About us

Our soul

In Malay, jiwa means soul. Not the places, not the itineraries, not the perfect photos: the soul of Jiwa is its people. Those who set off alone with a backpack and a little fear, those who arrive with their oldest friends, those who welcome us into their homes on the other side of the world.

We do not leave to escape the wind. We leave to feel it on our skin.

We have learned that taking shelter is pointless: the good things happen when you expose yourself, when you say yes before you feel ready, when you paddle out even if the wave looks bigger than you. Sometimes you get hurt, almost always less than you feared.

We are small, passing through, scattered like shells along the shore. And that is exactly why we do not want to waste time taking ourselves too seriously.

We have not decided yet what we will be when we grow up, and that is fine. Meanwhile we explore, take the wrong road, get lost and find ourselves again.

We are not looking for perfect places. We are looking for people: those who live there, those who leave with us, those we meet by chance. The stories we tell each other at night, tired and covered in salt, are the real reason we leave.

We want to vibrate. We want to make noise. We want to live a life worth remembering.

Jiwa: real journeys, for souls in motion.

How it started

Jiwa comes from years of travel experience. Its itineraries weren’t designed at a desk: they grew naturally, from living for long stretches in different places. They are made of locals who became friends, corners of nature discovered by chance and habits learned day by day.

Every Jiwa trip carries all of this with it, so you can live a place the way the people who live there do. And come home a little different from when you left.

What we believe in

1

Authenticity

Real journeys, places truly lived in, no plastic experiences

2

Connection

People first, among those who leave and those who live there

3

Courage

Putting yourself out there, leaving the comfort zone, embracing the unexpected

4

Transformation

You come home with something more inside, not just in the suitcase

5

Respect

For the places, the local communities and the nature that welcomes us

6

Energy

Vibrate, make noise, live the journey with intensity
